Lavin Slogan Incorporation

One of my major projects that I had as the Director of Marketing of the Lavin Entrepreneurship Program (Lavin for short) was to incorporate Lavin’s new slogan into the existing logo, to use on marketing materials for Lavin.

Throughout this process, I worked with the Buerk Entrepreneurship Center, the department that helps run the Lavin Entrepreneurship Program to design the incorporation of the slogan into an existing logo, to give Lavin’s logo a much more personalized look that captured the message of the program, while still staying on brand to the University of Washington.

To represent how the students within the program were ready to disrupt and change the industry through entrepreneurship, while staying within University of Washington branding.

Rough Drafts

My first step in my design process was to come up with some rough designs, in order to see which design captured the uniqueness and disruptive nature of the students within the program. What I did specifically was to try out different colors, case styling, and weight of the fonts in order to see which font styling could fit my communication goals. I also tried aligning the text of the slogan differently in order to see what alignment could clearly communicate the message of the Lavin Program.

Refined Drafts

After getting feedback from the Buerk Center, I refined my designs by taking some of the rough drafts of the slogan and refining them a bit, in order to narrow down all the options for a potential slogan design. I also made two versions of the slogan with the Lavin logo to see what the slogan would look like with the logo and what styling with the logo would look the best.

Final Versions

After another round of feedback, I made adjustments and created final designs. The reason why I made more than one final design was because of the request that there could be different designs for the slogan on physical items and digital items.
